The Gateway Foundation is a Christian-based charity dedicated to supporting individuals who have experienced addiction and/or offending, and are seeking to rebuild their lives through meaningful employment and financial independence. Founded in 2022, we focus on providing essential pathways for those who have successfully completed rehabilitation programs and are ready to re-enter society. Our mission is to relieve poverty and financial hardship by helping individuals transition into stable, long-term employment, or by offering volunteer opportunities that build skills, confidence, and self-sufficiency.

We understand that addiction and offending are often intertwined with deeper personal challenges, and that recovery is a journey requiring both emotional resilience and practical support. Our work is centered on the belief that everyone has the potential to lead a meaningful life. Through education, training, and access to employment services, we empower individuals to take control of their future and create lasting positive change for themselves and their communities.

Our vision is to create a community where individuals who have experienced addiction or mental health challenges can build emotional resilience, achieve independence, and live a fulfilling life. We are committed to supporting individuals through collaborative, person-centered approaches that respect each person’s unique story and strengths. By fostering a culture of dignity, hope, and empowerment, we help people not only recover but thrive.

At The Gateway Foundation, we uphold the following values:

Value the potential of everyone: We believe in the skills, capacity, knowledge, and connections of every individual to live a meaningful life.
Promote collaborative models of working: We give those who access our services a voice in their journey and ensure their future is shaped by their own choices.
Safeguard each individual story: We honour the resilience and strengths embedded in each person’s story, recognizing the importance of their personal journey.
Support prevention and independence: By promoting self-determination and offering solutions, we empower individuals to map their own pathways to success.

Our mission focuses on providing access to tailored employment services and focused support for individuals who have successfully completed a drug rehabilitation program. We guide people from addiction to meaningful employment, connecting them with essential networks, services, and communities that support their recovery and employment goals. We also strive to build partnerships with other organizations, working collaboratively to map essential connections and expand our ability to signpost individuals to the right resources.
